WHAT TO DO IN A GAS EMERGENCY
A gas leak is a life-threatening emergency. If you smell gas or suspect a leak, the priority is to get everyone out of the property immediately.
Do not turn any electrical switches on or off. Do not light flames. Open windows if possible as you leave. Call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 from outside the property. Once you are outside and safe, call us. Our Gas Safe engineers locate the leak, carry out the repair, and issue a written safety certificate before they leave.
